Abstract

Publications are important for sharing knowledge and career development. Writing a research paper is a challenge to academic staff and research students. In this tutorial, I will share my experience in writing academic papers. In particular, the tutorial will focus on 4I and 3S. 4I refers to “important”, “insightful”, “innovative” and “interesting” while 3S pertains to “Story”, “Structure” and “Sentence”. A learning-by-doing approach will be employed in this tutorial, where several hand-on sessions will be offered.
